Debbie (Smallwood) Cooley, 63, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 8:15 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2010 at Wabash County Hospital. She was born December 23, 1946 in Harlan County, Kentucky, to Bill and Martha (Cornett) Smallwood.
Debbie married William L. "Bill" Cooley, Sr. on June 22, 1968; he died April 4, 2002. She was a homemaker and enjoyed watching soap operas.
She is survived by her son, William L. Cooley, Jr. of Wabash; two step-daughters, Sherry Lee (Brian) Bogdon, of Montana, and Brandy Cooley of Milford, Indiana; two brothers, William "Babe" (Nancy) Smallwood of Watts Creek, Kentucky, and Foley (Cora) Smallwood of Loyall, Kentucky; four sisters, Mary (Ray) Daniels of New Tazwell, Tennessee, Lucille Derck of Watts Creek, Cindy Proffitt of Wabash, and Rosetta Stanton of Watts Creek; her grandson, William L. Cooley, III of Wabash; and four step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Prater officiating. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 12-2 p.m. Monday, March 8 at the funeral home.
