P.S. There was a little redhead there who turned his head and seemed very interested in watching Taps being sounded at the cemetery. And another one obviously on the way from first grandson Michael's wife. Make that great grandchildren and beyond....

The funeral Mass was beautiful and the 21 gun salute at the grave site and the playing of Taps for yet another member of the Greatest Generation gone-on was especially moving. Uncle Jim was a hearty hardy soul and an honor to his family who he selflessly provided for, his faith which he followed and practiced for life and his country which he unquestionably served during World War II. We all could do much worse than to follow his fine example. Rest in Peace, Uncle Jim. And may God continue to bless his surviving spouse, children, grandchildren and beyond.

I want you to know that I am thinking of you at the death of Jim. It is good that you are establshed at Peabody. I moved to Timbercrest in January after Larry died in April. I had the house to sell and rid of the things in the house. You are in my prayers. Carolyn Leffel

Dear Fedewa Family. I am sorry for your loss. Your dad was one of a kind. You were all such very special classmates and friends. I remember walking into Fedewas and the floor squeaking and Jim looking up and saying "hello?" "May I help you?" Years later we ALWAYS shared a story from the old days. He really enjoyed coming to our Community Breakfasts hosted by our church. He stayed as acitve as her could, and walked, walked, walked.
Yes, he had a good sense of humor, but more than that it was his way of "being" that was so precious.
Now all the gang of three are together again in heaven- Jim, Bill Poston, and Jot Freeman. Our parents made such a good life for us on the south side of Main Street, didn't they..? May God help you live with your memories in ways that are helpful. JP Freeman

Carolyn, so sorry to hear about Jim. We've been trying to get down but weather and health kept us away.
Think about him very often. You take care of yourself.

Dear Bev, Fred, David and Mary,
We were so sorry to hear about your dad. Uncle Jim was always the lively uncle at Fred & Coletta's house! I remember when he once wore his Notre Dame sweater and a plaid tam o'shanter! You all and Carolyn will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Fedewa Family:
My condolences to all of you. Your dad always was very fun to be around and loved to kid.
I last saw Uncle Jim at Uncle Ken's funeral in Rensselaer, and he seemed in fine spirits. Now, he finally will get to meet Knute Rockne and Frank Leahy!
Godspeed.
